Lemonade came to us from a shelter in North Carolina where she was rescued by one of the volunteers there. She was placed into boarding so that she could be saved. Unfortunately, Lemonade has tested positive for heartworms which makes it harder for her to find a rescue, but luckily for her we have no problem with taking in the heartworm positive dogs.
Lemonade is a very sweet girl and despite being a little older, she is about 7 years old, she still has a lot of energy. She is a very happy girl and would love to be with her own family for the holidays. She wasn't taken care of very well before, she was not spayed and appears to have had puppies recently, who knows how many litters she may have had, and obviously was not given heartworm preventative. She deserves to start over in a new family who will love and keep her safe for the rest of her life.
She has started her heartworm treatment. The cost of her treatment so far has been $400. Please consider sponsoring her so that we will be able to help more dogs like her in the future. She can be adopted during this time. Her only restriction is her activity level. During the treatment period she will need to only take short leash walks and then relax the majority of the time. We have had several dogs go through this treatment and have had great recoveries. Please consider giving this sweet girl the life she deserves!
