Ace wasn't supposed to live. Dumped, flea-infested and anemic, on a rescuers front porch with his mom and siblings, his chances were beyond slim. He was only 1 week old, his eyes still closed, and the fleas had nearly sucked the life out of him. After a thorough bath and veterinary care, this guy proved he was a fighter. While 3 of his siblings passed away due to their neglect, he fought, along with his brother Ainsley, to stay alive and learn what it means to be a kitten. At 3 weeks old he suffered a set back when he contracted an upper respiratory infection. Again, love, medicine, and his fighting spirit kept him here.
Ace is now a lively guy, full of gusto and so excited to explore the world around him. He always greets me with rubs against my legs, and likes to curl up in my lap to bat at my hair while I am reading a book. He is still a youngster, but I suspect that he will be a gorgeous, social, happy kitty who will forever be grateful for his second chances.
Ainsley and Ace would love to be adopted together. They have been through so much together, and have given each other a great deal of comfort through all of the hard times!
Because Ace is only about 4weeks old at this time, he will need another 4 weeks or so before he can leave foster care. After that tine, we will be enforcing what we call "fostering to adopt" if you think you would like to add Ace to your family. What this means is you will take him into your home and care for him until he is old enough to be neutered and microchipped. He will still belong to A Buddy For Life until after his surgery and microchip. After that, official adoption paperwork can be signed. You may fill out an application now if you are interested in making Ace your next best friend.
