Simon is in a shelter in Pa and his time is up! Please consider fostering or adopting this great boy. He will be euthanized if a home isn't found for him by the end of the week.

One of the volunteers at the shelter sent this about him... Does anybody have room or know anybody that may have room for him??? I have shown Simon at adoption events before. He LOVES everybody especially kids. He is just a big loveable dog. He just lets the kids crawl all over him. I see that they are only giving him ten days to find someplace to go. I love this dog!!! He has been a little picky about some of the Male dogs that he has met.... not all, but some. The shelter is not however, picky about who they adopt to. The last house returned him because they "thought that their little dogs were afraid of him". When ask if he did anything to their other dogs they said "Oh no!!! We just think that they are afraid of him"..... Idiots!!! :-\ Thanks so much!

Hi! My name is Simon, and I am essentially a big teddy bear-type: I thrive on human attention! The guess is that I'm a 5 year old golden retriever/rottie. I weigh 78 pounds. I was originally found wandering around and the person who found me knew I'd be safe at the local shelter. When space ran out there, a wonderful family stepped up and offered to foster me. I was so happy there. I was then adopted for 3 weeks, but my family decided that they weren't ready for dog parenting. Throughout all of this, I had one of my toes amputated because I had damaged tissue from an old injury. Now I'm feeling wonderfully and ready for the forever home I deserve! I am already neutered, up-to-date on all of my shots, and have tested negative for heartworm and Lyme Disease. I'm a friendly guy and enjoy my walks, but I am just as content laying by your feet while watching TV. I love belly rubs, giving kisses with my big tongue, and seem to enjoy the company of even the smallest children, other gentle dogs (preferably females), cats and even rats! I am also housetrained. Could you please call so that I won't be shuffled around anymore and we can get down to the business of being together for the rest of my life? Thanks so much!
