Parker was owner surrendered to a high kill shelter in Indiana. He is about 3 years old. He is a bigger guy, but right now he only weighs about 66lbs and she should be around 80lbs. He is very skiny!
Parker is a very friendly, fun-loving, active dog. He would love an active family and he is good with children. Parker is housetrained. He knows how to sit, give paw, and lay down. He is also crate trained. Parker thinks that he is small enough to be a lap dog. He lays his head on your lap and enjoys his tummy rubbed.
Update 10/9/07 - Parker is slowly gaining weight. He is looking better every day. Parker is doing wonderful in his foster home. When Parker first came to his foster house he liked to grab toys and pace aound and wouldn't share it with anyone. He is feeling comforable now, he now brings his toys to whoever will play with him. Parker is doing great with the other dogs in his foster home. He is gentle while playing. He doen't play very long. He loves to be around humans. He follows his foster mom from room to room. Parker does seem to be a jumper when he is in the back yard and sees another dog. Right now he is in a yard with a post and rail fence. He hasn't jumped over it yet, but sometims he seems very close. The people who cared for Parker previously took a lot of time training him, but he needs to be kept up with his training skills. It might also be helpful if Parker goes to some sort of obedience training class due to his size to reinforce what he has learned.
