JJ and his brother Oliver came from West Virginia. They are the remaining two of a litter of 9 puppies that were found as strays. Our Jess is their sister. JJ is much more afraid than his siblings. He is doing better than when he first arrived. He is working on walking on a leash. Loud noises really scare him. He is going to need a lot of patience and understanding.
03/17/09 Hi my name is JJ, which is short for Jesse James although my foster mom says it is short for jumping jack. I like to jump and can jump pretty high when I want. I am a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, so if you know my breed you will know I have lots of energy, Im very smart, I get into mischief and I can be really, really stubborn when I want to be.
I turned one this month. I came from West Virginia with my sister Jess and my brother Oliver a long time ago. They both have their own homes now. That makes me very happy. I would like to have my own home too. My foster mom says just be patient, my turn will come. I hope when my turn does come that I have a canine brother or sister to play with, I am happiest when I have doggie company.
I know some tricks. I will sit when you ask me and will go down when you ask. I will usually come when you call or whistle unless I happen to be very busy. I like to be busy. I like to go for walks, go to the bark park, play in the yard with my foster brother and follow my foster mom everywhere she goes. I like to throw things and I dont much care to be ignored, I will nudge or paw you if I feel you are not paying me enough attention.
New things scare me a little but I get over it pretty quickly. I am generally a happy guy with a lot of curiosity and a lot of energy. I would love to walk or jog with you, play ball and cuddle up while you read a book.
Will you come meet me?
