Babs came from a shelter in Indiana. She is a very friendly, lovable girl. She is young, about a year old.
Update November 7: Babs is going to have surgery to fix her leg. She will be getting a FHO: femoral head ostectomy. Femoral head ostectomy is removal or excision of the ball portion of the hip joint. After removal, the bone is smoothed so there is no bone to bone contact occurring between the pelvis and the remaining portion of the femur. Removal of the portion of the femur that articulates with the hip joint then causes formation of a false fibrous joint.
Update November 18: Babs is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday, November 21. The surgery is estimated to cost between $1800 and $2500. Please consider sponsoring Babs to help with her surgery. She is such a sweet, happy girl all the time it will be great for her to be able to run and play pain free from now on.
Update November 23:Babs had her surgery and is doing well. The Doctor was surprised, the xrays appeared worse than what was really going on. They didn't have to remove the femoral head, just the damaged part. We'll keep you posted on how she is doing!
