April arrived from Indiana, along with her buddy Jet. She is a black lab mix female who is about 2 yrs old, and weighs 45lbs. We think she may have recently had a litter of puppies. She is thin and will need some TLC to fatten her up!! However, she has the most gorgeous, shiny coat, despite her ordeal!

April is a little shy, but very sweet. With a little bit of patience and encouragement, she will come and snuggle next to you giving you gentle kisses. She is a HUGE snugglebunny at night!!

She does seem to be afraid of sudden noises, but is inquisitive. She will just need someone to help build up her self-esteem and self-confidence a little.

For the first few days, she rarely came out of our bedroom to come downstairs, not even to eat or go outside. We had to put a leash on her to guide her down. We thought it was because she was scared, but have figured out that it is more related to her not liking to walk on the hardwood floors.

Once she is outside she is very playful with her buddy, Jet , and her other foster siblings. She likes to run and wrestle. She appears to be OK with cats. We think she may do well as a second dog because she seems to look to Jet in new situations for guidance.

She is gentle with children, but because of her fear of sudden noises we think a household with slightly older children would suit her needs a little better.

She is housebroken and can be left uncrated.
