Andy was found as a stray and ending up in a very high kill shelter in Virginia. His time was running out and the rescue coordinator contacted us to warn us he was going to be euthanized and asked if we could take him. Of course we had to say yes. Then we got the news that he is heartworm positive and ehrlicia positive. They expected us to say that we would no longer take him, because sometimes that is what happens, some rescues only want to take easy, healthy, cute dogs. If we were to say no to Andy now we would be writing his death sentence. There's no way we can let him down because he needs some antibiotics and heartworm treatment. It's not his fault.
Andy is about 3-4 years old and a real sweetie. Andy is a sweet gentleman.....he is calm, but loves to play when you're ready. He is ~60lbs. and walks around the house quietly and gently. He loves to take our nightly walks and doens't pull. He is very eager to please and loves to have his belly rubs. He is housebroken, great with other dogs, cats and people. Just a general sweetie! You just have to meet him - he'll steal your heart.
