Ruby is a sweet, young female Basenji mix, approximately 5 months old. Her previous owner decided she didn't have time for Ruby since she was preparing for her wedding. She was ready to take Ruby to the SPCA, when her friend intervened and offered to take Ruby in. This friend contacted us and we have decided to help Ruby find a new forever home with someone who will appreciate her sweetness and charm.
Ruby is great with other dogs and children. She is only five months old, and still jumps up on people, and that can sometimes scare very young children who are not used to dogs doing this. She is shy around strangers at first, but warms up quickly. She is learning basic commands, and is crate trained but will on occasion still have accidents in her crate if she has access to water up until when she is put in her crate for the evening. She rides great in a car, and is an all around lovable little pooch with the usual puppy energy and personality.
