Emmitt was adopted from an Ohio shelter as a puppy and is now about 4-5 years old. He was returned to the shelter along with a choc lab. The choc lab was rescued right away and poor Emmitt just sat there. The warden of the shelter saw what a great guy he was and held onto him each week instead of euthanizing him. Now he is safe with us.
Emmitt is a very well behaved, sweet guy. He is pretty laid back and loves people and gets along well with other dogs. If you are interested in Emmitt please fill out an application.
Hello, I am Emmitt's foster mom. He is a GREAT dog. Right now he seems to be a bit timid when it comes to new things. Sometimes it seems like he is getting used to living in a house again. The other day he got frightened when I turned the TV on. However, he IS totally housebroken and terrific with both cats and dogs. My older cat swatted at him when he first arrived and now he is very submissive towards her. Emmitt is currently crated during the day but I think once he gets a bit more settled this won't be necessary. We went to the dog park the other day and he did really well. A few times he went off on his own to explore and came back as soon as I called him. Not once did he get aggressive with any of the other dogs. Frankly, he seemed to prefer hanging out with the humans getting compliments and belly rubs. He sits well for treats and has learned that he needs to sit while I'm preparing his dinner. Emmitt really is an all around wonderful and loving dog. He just needs an owner to give him some time to settle in and let him get comfortable in a house bc he can be a little shy at first.
