Felix- Needs our help!!!!
Felix is currently in Virginia and being taken care of by the Halifax County Humane Society. This Humane Society is basically one person doing everything she can to save the dogs in her community. We would really love to help Felix, but all of our foster homes are filled to their limits. Can you find it in your heart to help this poor baby?
Poor Felix has had a hard life. His previous owner gave him no vet care at all, even after he had been injured. He has been shot, had 2 broken back legs, but remains the sweetest boy.
The vet felt he could not fix one of his back broken legs because the injury was old and it had already healed. He would need to see a specialist. He did fix his other back broken leg by putting pins in the leg. Felix is now starting to put some weight on that back leg, but when he wants to move fast, he rocks forward on his front two legs and trots along.
Felix is such a sweet dog. We really wish a rescue who could deal with his injuries better could help him. I know it will be costly, but he deserves to much better. He may be a candidate for a doggie wheelchair.
11/25 update-Felix should have his pins removed in early December. We are pleading with anyone who has experience w/ doggie wheelchairs to please help Felix. He is not progressing like we had hoped and don't think it is fair for Felix to not be able to give him what he needs. We would love for Felix to be taken in by a rescue group who is prepared to deal with his injuries.

We would like to start a fund for him and even if we cannot find a foster home here and take care of him ourselves, we would like to send money to his current caretaker so that she could take him to a specialist or get him a cart (around $500), whatever he needs.
